As a traffic officer with us, you will be an important part of our traffic group, where we work to develop and manage a sustainable and well-functioning transport system for Borlänge. You will belong to the Traffic and Urban Environment Unit – a unit responsible for developing and managing the municipality's public spaces. In your role, you will be part of a smaller workgroup with strong collaboration, where we together handle a wide range of traffic-related issues.
The work also involves close cooperation with other parts of the municipality, the business community, authorities, and various stakeholders – as well as a close dialogue with the residents of Borlänge. Here you will have the opportunity to influence and contribute to a more accessible and pleasant urban environment for everyone.
The Traffic and Urban Environment is part of the Community Building Administration's operations Strategy and Property. The operation consists of driven, positive, and knowledgeable managers and employees who work in a complex assignment where the focus is on service, quality, continuous improvement, and efficiency.

JOB DESCRIPTION
As a traffic officer with us, you will have a broad and varied area of work within traffic and infrastructure. You have many points of contact and collaborate with authorities, residents, and the business community, where you provide support and advice on traffic-related issues. A large part of the role includes administrative tasks as well as being a support to the group's traffic engineers in their daily work.
You will be responsible for regulatory enforcement related to traffic issues, where tasks include processing and investigating cases according to the Traffic Regulation. This may involve permit cases, transport exemptions, allocation of public space, parking permits for the disabled, and vehicle relocation. You may also work with issues related to local traffic regulations, traffic arrangement plans, and referral statements within the traffic area.
In the role, you will work both independently and in a group. You also have an important function in answering questions, providing information, and handling feedback from authorities, property owners, businesses, and the public.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a relevant post-secondary education or equivalent work experience deemed equivalent. You have an excellent ability to express yourself in Swedish and a good ability to express yourself in English, both orally and in writing. Proficiency in the Office suite and a B driver's license are required.
We would like you to have experience with traffic issues and regulatory enforcement within public operations.
In addition to your formal qualifications, we see that you have analytical and problem-solving skills, and you can navigate laws and regulations to find the right measures. You are results-oriented, work systematically, and ensure that processes move forward efficiently. You take initiative and have the ability to work independently while enjoying collaboration with others. You are a relationship builder who actively establishes contacts and maintains good collaborations, both within and outside the organization. Communication is a central part of the role, and we are looking for someone who adapts their communication according to the situation and the recipient. You can clearly explain decisions, regulations, and other positions to the people you meet in your work.
